Babysitter Training

Cost: $35.00

This is a 5-hour course designed for youth ages 11-15. Babysitter Training educates participants about basic child care, first aid, choking emergencies, rescue breathing, decision making and appropriate behavior and play. It also teaches youth how to recognize unsafe conditions and prevent injuries and illnesses.

Class includes babysitter’s manual/DVD and babysitter’s kit.  Students are not permittted to leave the building during the class, so please pack them a lunch that they can eat here at the Chapter. We do have a refrigerator and a microwave available.

**New program-American Red Cross Babysitters Training Camp**

American Red Cross Three Day Holiday Babysitter’s Boot Camp

 Don’t be stuck in your house over the holidays.  Get out, meet new friends, have fun and learn valuable lifesaving skills! Girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 15 years - ask your parents to enroll you in the American Red Cross Holiday Babysitter’s Boot Camp.

  • On Day One campers will learn leadership skills, professionalism, basic child care skill such as diapering and feeding, safe play and how to handle bed time issues. 
  • On Day Two practice on manikins as you learn lifesaving skills such as CPR, rescue breathing and how to respond to an infant or child who is choking. Campers will receive a Red Cross certification in Infant and Child CPR. 
  • On Day Three earn a Red Cross First Aid certification as you learn how to handle injuries to muscle and bones, how to control bleeding and more. You will also learn about disasters that can occur in our area and how to prepare for them.

  All training materials, free lunch each day and a camp tee shirt are included in the cost of this activity filled camp.

Dates and Times:  December 28, 29 and 30th from 9AM – 3:00 PM each

                               Campers must attend all three days.

Cost:  $110 and includes lunch, t-shirt, babysitter’s manual/DVD and babysitter’s kit
