Thank You For Your Support

The American Red Cross is not a government agency. All Red Cross programs, including disaster relief, are made possible through the generosity and commitment of people like you, through your direct donations and/or planned gifts.

Direct Donations

The American Red Cross, including the York-Adams County Chapter honors donor intent, meaning that whether you donate to the local Chapter or to the American National Red Cross, your funds will be properly directed to the intended recipients.  We accept cash, check and credit card contributions by phone, through the mail and at our offices at 724 South George Street, York, PA, 17401 and 230 Greenamyer Lane Gettysburg, PA, 17325. We also accept credit card contributions which can be made online by using our secure online form below:

Donations We Accept

The York-Adams Chapter can accept donations of cash, by credit and through various planned gift arrangements as well as specified gifts-in-kind including motor vehicles.  For more information regarding any of the options listed below, please contact Victoria Connor at 771-3551 or e-mail connorv@usa.redcross.org.

Corporate Support

The Annual Business Leadership Giving Program has been established, through the formation of mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships with area businesses, to ensure that the York-Adams Chapter can continue to provide lifesaving services, aid victims of disaster and is able to meet the expanding needs of our growing community.

In lieu of fulfilling multiple contribution requests, annual Business Leadership Givers are encouraged to support the Chapter with a one-time, yearly donation in the category of your choice, payable in full or by installment. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Gifts In Kind

Donations of good or services of a specific nature to aid the work of the Red Cross are greatly appreciated. From small hygiene items for comfort kits to help victims of local disaster to palletized boxes of  food and water for those affected beyond our community in times of catastrophic emergencies, to print and production services for special events, and even motor vehicles, each donation enables the Red Cross to help those in need while also greatly reducing administrative costs.

Please contact the Public Support staff to discuss the types of gifts that are needed on an ongoing basis and can be accepted, locally or nationally, in times of major disasters.'

Tributes and Memorials

A donation to the Red Cross is the perfect way to honor the memory of a loved one or to give in lieu of a traditional wedding, anniversary or birthday gift for that special someone "who has everything!"

Planned Gifts

These are gifts through wills, life insurance, pooled income funds and charitable trusts. With a planned gift, you can always have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping others, but you could possibly have the added benefit of tax savings.

The York-Adams Chapter can work with you to arrange the following kinds of planned gifts:

Bequest

You can name the York-Adams of the American Red Cross as a beneficiary in your will. You're free to designate the bequest by a specific amount, a percentage or some other manner. By naming a charity in your will, you control your assets during your lifetime and can reduce the death tax calculation on your estate.

Life Income Gift

You can transfer assets to the American Red Cross while retaining the right to use the assets during your lifetime. You are able to utilize this gift as a current income tax deduction.

Gift of Life Insurance

You can donate either paid-in-full or ongoing-payment life insurance policies to the local chapter to help support programs and services. This gift can be used as an income tax deduction.

Gift of Retirement Assets (IRA, 401k, etc.)

You can name York-Adams Chapter as the beneficiary of your retirement plans. With this gift, you can avoid double taxation on your income and estate.

Pooled Income Fund

Your gift of money, marketable securities or both can be invested together with similar gifts from other supporters. The contribution can serve as an income tax deduction.

Charitable Lead Trust

You can create a trust so that income is annually provided, from cash or investments, to the local chapter for whatever number of years you desire. When the trust's term expires, the assets revert back to you. With the charitable lead trust you have the benefits of ownership and tax deduction.

WE THANK YOU!
Your support, be it financial or through the gift of your time as a volunteer, is always appreciated by the York-Adams  Chapter of the American Red Cross.
