Become a blood donor!

Each time you donate blood, you give a very generous gift and you will make a difference in the lives of many people. It's a feeling that money can't buy!

Donating Your Blood Is Important and Rewarding
Visit www.my-redcross.org for the latest information on blood donations: who is eligible to donate blood, testimonials from local residents whose lives were saved by blood donations, advances in technology and more!

It's Simple
And it will help make a world of difference in someone else's life.

It's Quick
The actual donation takes about 10 minutes, the whole process is finished in about an hour.

It's Safe
You cannot become infected with HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) or any disease from donating blood. All of the supplies used in your blood donation, including the needle, are sterile and used only once--JUST FOR YOU.

Each time you donate blood, you may be saving up to three lives! Here's how it works:
Your whole blood donation is separated into three components, which have medical benefits for different patients' needs. Red blood cells benefit patients with chronic anemia or acute blood loss. Plasma benefits patients with severe liver disease, clotting deficiencies or serious burns. Platelets benefit patients undergoing cancer therapy, recovering from organ and bone marrow transplants, or with leukemia.
